I took part in the Association for Project Management (APM) challenge for South Wales and the West of England. This challenge involved finding a local charity and working on a project for that local charity which would give continuous benefit to them, while at the same time planning everything end-to-end in a structured, professionally projected managed way under the APM guidelines.
For this, we collaborated with Auti-Ms, a charity local to Bristol specialising in Autism in young girls and women. We decided to implement a webinar platform and video hub for the charity. This would allow them to continuously add content, have guest speakers and interact directly in real time with the community.
After writing our initial project idea, we had to pass gate reviews at Airbus and with the charity, both of these we successfully passed, and we wrote our project plan thereafter which was used to submit for a national lottery funding application. This was approved and the charity was given £9,100 for the project as the national lottery liked the idea! Big Win !!
From there-on, we scouted various webinar technologies which we could integrate with their existing website for a professional feel. This required finding various different technologies, negotiating costs and successfully deploying these technologies. In the end, we successfully implemented a webinar streaming software, a webinar CMS to automate reminder emails and sign-up, and a digital calendar to advertise upcoming events. A video hub was also created where previous livestreams and pre-recorded videos could be viewed.
However, on-top of this, we decided that to increase the attendance of the webinar, we should also focus on areas to improve the existing infrastructure of the charity and therefore we also:
→ Completely modernized the look, feel and simplicity of the existing website.
→ Designed new social media graphics and branding.
→ Improved the SEO of the website
→ Added the charity to online charity directories.
→ Obtained a Google Ads Grant of $10,000 Per month
→ Implemented new donation platform accepting multiple payment methods and subscriptions.
→ Implemented Automated Social Media tools.
→ Added and deployed over 19+ additional tools to the charity including Slack, HotJar, Okta, Linktree, and Canva with free premium licenses after doing negotiations with suppliers.
→ Create Profiles on various platforms to increase visibility.
